Potomac Swim School - Potomac Swim School
Potomac Swim School, located in the metro area of Washington, DC, was created to teach children how to swim in a safe and positive environment. Since September, 2001, when Founder and CEO Donna Boone started the program at a local health club, Potomac Swim School has expanded, and now provides classes in its own facility. The first group consisted of five children; by the end of 2003, 520 children were enrolled in the program.
With more than a dozen different class levels for parents to choose from, the facility offers lessons for all swimming abilities. The first course offered, called Waterbabies, is designed for infants and toddlers between six and 36 months of age. Waterbabies allows parents to bond with their children while helping them become comfortable with water. The school also teaches advanced lessons, which are available to children up to 11 years old depending on their swimming abilities. Each child is placed in a class level based on an in-water evaluation.
Potomac Swim School was built on making learning to swim a fun, enjoyable experience. As such, the company offers warm water and air temperatures, a shallow pool for new swimmers, and classes that group children at the same age and swim level to allow for a more comfortable, social experience. The earlier a child is taught to swim the better, and the school works to eliminate any apprehension of water or swimming.
Voted Best Swim School in the Best of DC Suburbs 2011, the facility is also an active member of the United States Swim School Association (USSSA). Testimonials from the school’s staff and parents of children enrolled in programs are available at PotomacSwimSchool.com, along with FAQs and registration forms for future clients.
