Overseeing $2.5 billion in investments, Alkeon Capital Management is a hedge fund manager started in 2002. As Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer, and founder of Alkeon Capital Management, Panayotis “Takis” Sparaggis possesses nearly two decades of experience in managing investment portfolios. He graduated with a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and an M.B.A. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Before starting Alkeon Capital Management, Sparaggis served as an investment manager at Credit Suisse First Boston for two years. He handled portfolio management and security analysis for domestic investments in a long short strategy, as well as proprietary trading. Prior to this, he participated in an IBM Ph.D. Fellowship program in the physical sciences and completed both his Ph.D. and M.B.A. Sparaggis followed his tenure at Credit Suisse First Boston with a position at CIBC Oppenheimer, where he took on increasingly greater responsibility and operated as Managing Director and Portfolio Manager within CIBC Oppenheimer’s Asset Management division. In 2002, Sparaggis spun off Alkeon Capital Management from CIBC Oppenheimer, along with a team of six analysts, two traders, a risk manager, Chief Compliance Officer, and several other professionals.
Today, Alkeon Capital Management maintains offices in key financial centers around the world, including New York, Hong Kong, and Boston. Sparaggis and his team at Alkeon Capital Management, a registered investment adviser, meet with hundreds of companies each year to evaluate and select potential investments. Alkeon Capital Management oversees a global portfolio of diversified stocks.
