The River Centre Clinic offers a comprehensive suite of individualized programs to treat eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, binge eating, and bulimia nervosa.
Headed by Medical Director, Clinical Director, and President Michael Anderson, M.D., Ph.D., the compassionate staff at the River Centre Clinic creates a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment for patients. The multidisciplinary clinic staff includes licensed mental health professionals, a licensed dietetic technician, a licensed and registered nurse, physicians, and psychologists, all of whom are committed to administering life-changing educational and psychological treatments.
The programs at the River Centre Clinic utilize an enhanced form of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), an empirically validated therapeutic methodology that David Garner, Ph.D. developed over more than three decades specifically for the treatment of eating disorders. The crux of the clinic's method is the implementation of evidence-based treatment principles continually refined with a Performance Improvement Plan. Through regular treatment audits, Dr. Michael Anderson and his staff ensure the effectiveness and economy of every therapeutic program.
The River Centre Clinic is a modern and spacious facility situated on the banks of a scenic creek in Sylvania, Ohio. Patients receive treatments custom tailored to address their specific needs. The staff arms patients with crucial symptom-reduction and relapse-prevention techniques and teaches them how to create and follow healthy meal plans. To help discharged patients achieve total recovery, the River Centre Clinic provides follow-up and aftercare services that encourage continued progress.
