As President of Kids First Pediatrics, Dr. Karen Kim leads a staff of six board-certified pediatricians at three offices in the Pooler, Rincon, and Southside Savannah, Georgia area.
Prior to her role at Kids First Pediatrics, Dr. Karen Kim pursued her education at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she graduated summa cum laude with a perfect 4.0 grade point average, earning a bachelor of arts degree in both chemistry and biology. Over the course of her studies, Dr. Karen Kim qualified for a prestigious Grote chemistry scholarship, earned a four-year Leadership scholarship, and a Mensa scholarship.
Furthering her education at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, she obtained her MD in 1993. She subsequently completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville before founding Kids First Pediatrics.
At Kids First Pediatrics, Dr. Kim responds to the medical needs of infants, children, and adolescents up to the age of 21. Dr. Karen Kim and her colleagues at Kids First Pediatrics perform sports physicals, administer well-child checkups and vaccinations, conduct ear, eye, and dental exams for school (EED's), and offer same-day visits for sick children.
The practice accepts nearly all commercial health insurance programs and Tricare. It does not accept Medicaid, Wellcare, or Amerigroup at this time unless the new patient has an older sibling already treated by the practice.
Dr. Karen Kim and the other physicians at Kids First Pediatrics maintain professional affiliations with both Candler Hospital and Memorial University Medical Center. Dr. Kim and the other physicians at Kids First Pediatrics participate in training residents in pediatrics at Memorial University Medical Center.
The company maintains three locations in the greater Savannah area, with offices at 143 Canal Street in Pooler; 808 Towne Park Drive in Rincon; and 101 Little Neck Road, just off Route 17, in Southside Savannah. Each contains a laboratory certified by the state of Georgia.
