Highlands Ranch Optical - Highlands Ranch Optical
Highlands Ranch Optical, located about 20 miles south of Denver in the Highlands Ranch community, is a comprehensive optical center that provides examinations and offers the largest selection of designer eyewear in the area. Highlands Ranch Optical carries unique frames that customers typically cannot find in chains or mall stores; its wide selection is hand-picked by the staff. Styles specially designed for petite women and children are available, as well as digital progressive lenses, which are high-quality bifocal lenses that offer the least amount of distortion.
The company specializes in difficult contact lens fits, using advanced diagnostic technologies to fit all patients correctly. Owner and optometrist Dr. Jeff Ward fits scleral lenses, which are specially formatted for patients with poor refractive surgery outcomes or those with diseased corneas.
Highlands Ranch Optical also specializes in orthokeratology, a treatment that improves vision without surgery or the need to wear corrective lenses during the day. Dr. Ward is certified to fit orthokeratology lenses and is one of only 63 Fellows of the Orthokeratology Academy of America. Orthokeratology lenses are uniquely fitted to each patient’s eyes and are worn only at night. While the patient sleeps, the lenses gently re-shape the corneas; the patient removes the lenses in the morning and enjoys near-perfection vision during the day.
In addition to offering designer eyewear and hard-to-fit lenses, Highlands Ranch Optical maintains partnerships with clinics in the Denver area that offer Lasik surgery. This exciting treatment holds great promise for permanent vision correction. Dr. Ward is trained to pre-screen patients for their suitability to undergo the procedure and manages pre and post-operation care.
Before coming to Highlands Ranch Optical, Dr. Jeff Ward earned his Doctor of Optometry and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Houston. He completed his residency at the New England College of Optometry, where he specialized in contact lenses and corneal pathology.
