To test the speed and precision of its vehicles, Carl's Speed Shop has taken them to Bonneville Salt Flats, Maxton Monster Mile Standing Start, and drag strips throughout the United States, resulting in numerous National and World Records such as fastest DVM registered street v-twin, push rod engine Sportster totally embellished by Carl's Speed Shop, 181.804 mph without a fairing on gasoline.
Another 166 MPH record on world's fastest Softail, no fairing on gasoline. Carl's Speed Shop has a 209 MPH Record set by Doug Morrow to add to his long list of about 50 records. The records and the race bikes are on display at Carl's Speed Shop in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Carl Morrow is an icon in the motorcycle industry and holds over 100 national records. He has a patent as well as a Typhoon trademark. He has provided bikes for a number of notable individuals, and he once built a bike at the request of the King Of Malaysia His Majesty Iskander.
Actively involved in Daytona Beach's motorcycle traditions, Carl's Speed Shop participates in Bike Week and Biketoberfest. These events take place annually in March and October, respectively, and feature riders from across the country. For several days twice a year, Daytona celebrates the culture by holding celebrations featuring tests of new equipment, parades, live music, and food. For the March event, Carl's Speed Shop serves as a voting member.
Located at 384 North Beach Street, Daytona Beach, Carl's Speed Shop is open from 9 am until 6 pm Tuesday through Saturday. The store is closed Sunday and Monday, except during special events when it's open seven days a week.
